Silver Jubilee — A Message of Thanks from Fr Dan
Fr Dan wishes to extend his deep gratitude to everyone who joined him for the Mass of Thanksgiving for his Silver Jubilee of Priestly Ordination. He writes:
I would like to thank everyone, in the parish and beyond, for their prayers and best wishes on the celebration of the Silver Jubilee of my Priestly Ordination. I was quite overwhelmed by your presence at the Mass on Thursday. I haven't been with you long, but your cards and messages have been especially heartwarming. A special thanks to all who helped organise the Mass and the reception in the Hall afterwards — I know there were many who helped in all sorts of different ways, from music to munchies.
I was deeply touched by the gift of the beautiful Sacred Heart statue and by your incredible generosity. It will help support a little project in Kenya run by the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception that looks after children born infected with HIV. I had the privilege of visiting them a few years ago and recent cuts in funding have put them under enormous pressure.
I am very grateful to all of you for your kind welcome and ask God to continue to bless our parishes and your families. Please take a little prayer card away with you from the doors today if you didn't get one on Thursday and pray for more vocations to the priesthood. Holy Mass will be offered for all your intentions in thanksgiving. Sacred Heart of Jesus, pray for us.
— Fr Dan
