Parish Notices
Thank You from Canon Oliver Freney
I have been so blessed to have ministered within the Diocese of Paisley during my 40 years of priesthood and grateful to have been welcomed to St Bridget's in Eaglesham since early retirement due to ill health in 2023. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for making me so welcome. I have been overwhelmed by the cards, gifts, prayers, celebratory 'Tea' and good wishes I have received to celebrate my 40 years of priesthood and thank you all for making this milestone so special. May God bless each and everyone of you and please join me in celebrating Holy Mass in St Bridget's and let us all pray together to thank God for our gift of life. God bless and thank you. — Canon Oliver
Thank You from Fr Dan Fitzpatrick
On Monday I celebrated Mass 25 years to the day I was ordained. Once again, I would like to thank everyone for their tremendous generosity and genuine affection over these last couple of weeks. Your generosity will, as I mentioned the other week, help to support the Sisters in Kenya pay for the school fees for the children they care for born with HIV. I thank God for all that he has given me over all those years and ask him to bless all of you and your families.
Happy Holidays. Now that the schools, at least here in East Renfrewshire, have finished for the summer break, I would like to thank all our teachers and support staff for all the work they do in our schools encouraging and educating our young people. I would like to thank all our families and young people too for making St Joseph's the vibrant parish that it is. I wish all of you a good break, travel safely if you are going away and relaxing if you are staying closer to home.

Mass Offerings — A Note:
Please indicate on any envelope with a Mass Offering whether the person is recently deceased or if it is their anniversary — "RIP" alone doesn't tell us which list. Under Data Protection legislation, anyone who is sick and whom you wish to have prayed for publicly must give their permission. Please indicate this on the envelope; if not included, the Mass will still be offered but the name cannot appear in the bulletin.
Collections & Offertory
Offertory and Peter's Pence Collection
Last week's offertory: St Joseph's £2,702 and St Bridget's £135. Thank you for your generosity.
This weekend, the transferred liturgical feast of Saints Peter and Paul, we take up the traditional Peter's Pence second collection to support the Holy Father in his mission of service to the universal Church. Donating to Peter's Pence is a concrete gesture of communion with the Pope and solidarity with his mission to bring the Gospel throughout the world. Please give generously.
Next weekend the second collection will be for the Building Fund.
Tea and coffee are served after Mass — on the 1st Sunday of the month after the 10:15am Mass (with children's craft activities), and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays after the 12 noon Mass (with lovely home baking).

Pope's Prayer Intention & Dedication to the Precious Blood
The Pope's July prayer intention: For respect for human life. Let us pray for the respect and protection of human life in all its stages, recognizing it as a gift from God.
July is dedicated to the Precious Blood of our Lord. The following prayer is offered for personal devotion:
Lord Jesus, You became Man in order by your Passion and Death and the draining of your Blood on the Cross, might prove to us how much You, our God, love us. Protect us, dear Jesus, from ever running away from the sight of blood. Strengthen our weak human wills so that we will not only not run away from the cross, but welcome every opportunity to shed our blood in spirit in union with your Precious Blood, so that, dying to ourselves in time we might live with You in Eternity. Amen.
