Baptism: Welcome to God's Family

Sacrament of New Life

Infants & Adults First Sacrament
Baptism welcomes you or your child into the Catholic Church and the family of God, cleansing original sin and beginning the journey of faith. At St Joseph's Parish, we celebrate this beautiful sacrament with reverence and joy.

Baptism Schedule

Infant baptisms are held Sundays at 1pm by arrangement. We recommend scheduling at least 2-3 months in advance.

Parents and godparents participate in a preparation session to understand the significance of baptism and their roles in the child's faith journey.

Sacrament Preparation
Marriage is a sacred covenant blessed by God, where couples pledge lifelong love and unity. At St Joseph's Parish, we celebrate this sacrament with those free to marry under Canon Law, offering comprehensive preparation and spiritual support.

Preparation Process

Contact the parish office at least 6 months before your desired date to begin the marriage preparation process, which includes guidance and spiritual support.

Penance & Reconciliation: Sacrament of Healing

God's Mercy & Forgiveness

Healing Renewal
The Sacrament of Penance and Reconciliation is a Sacrament of Healing. In this Sacrament, God shows the depths of his mercy and love by offering forgiveness for our sins and restoring us to grace. It is a profound encounter with God's limitless compassion.

Confession Times

Regular confession times are available on Saturdays from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Additional times can be arranged by appointment.

First Reconciliation

Children preparing for First Holy Communion also receive preparation for their First Reconciliation. Contact the parish office for details.

Visit to the Sick in Hospital or at Home

Comfort in Times of Illness

Hospital Home
When illness strikes, the Church offers comfort and strength through visits from priests with sacraments, prayers, and support. Whether in hospital or at home, our pastoral care team is here to bring Christ's healing presence to those who are suffering.

Hospital Visits

When admitted to hospital, inform the staff that you are Catholic to ensure our hospital chaplaincy team is notified for pastoral care and sacraments.

Homebound Visits

For those unable to attend Mass due to illness or age, contact the parish office to request regular visits for Holy Communion, prayer, and companionship.

Honoring Life, Hope in Resurrection

Support Hope
The death of a loved one is deeply painful, and the Church offers support through the Order of Christian Funerals, honouring Christ's death and resurrection. At St Joseph's Parish, our priests guide families with care through this difficult time, offering both practical assistance and spiritual comfort.

Comprehensive Support

Our team helps with all arrangements including the funeral Mass, music selections, scripture readings, and coordination with funeral directors.

Bereavement Ministry

Following the funeral, our parish offers ongoing support through our bereavement ministry for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
